Playing with Black and White

I've never been a big fan of black and white photos, actually I should say my black and white photos. They've always looked muddy and gray to me. So I've been playing with black and white conversion trying to figure out how to get better contrast in my pictures. I went to see a friend of mine on tuesday and of course had my camera with me. Her little girl put on quite the show and here are some of the shots, in black and white.

Digital Basics

I started my first photography course, digital basics, about a month ago and it has been incredible. I've certainly learned a lot and can't wait to sign up for another. Here are a few shots taken for some of our assignments over the last month.

An attempt to recreate one of my favorite photographs. The original is of my son and although this is nothing like the original I still like it. Of course I am a little biased being that I love the model sooo much!

I loved this assignment. Who would have thought that photographing something you don't like could be so much fun. Of course most of the pictures I took were too gross to post here.
